Eclectic Arches, Unique Architectural Decor

The arched doorways were accented with old Indian arches and a beautiful entryway, we placed two antique columns with stone bases giving a grand old world look. 200 years old Indian gates were used as garden gates, their arched shape and fantastic medieval design played against the rustic look of the house. We kept the tiles all original, along with the arches that are the highlight of Spanish architecture. Indian design is quite often opulent, but some Indian interiors are very simple. A mix of the British Colonial style as seen in the rosewood antique armoire with etched glass or the stunning Burmese teak round table with dual bases and upturned legs gives interiors an eclectic bohemian appeal. The turquoise carved console serves as a sofa table and is used to display family pictures. A huge wall mirror made from an antique arch sits across the custom dining table made from an antique door. Barn doors made from Ganesha and Krishna carvings in the guest room make a unique statement.

Rustic reclaimed woods used in the carved barn doors that are handcarved with florals and twines bring in the elements of the forest and are so beautifully earthy as well. They can be used as closet doors, sliding barn doors or as room dividers. The artistic door panels bring in the earth element and have clean lines that work well with modern interiors.

The elaborately detailed consoles with arched facades are the epitome of natural design, taking their inspiration from arches that embraced the entrances of old palaces in the bygone days. Reclaimed woods with the color seeped deeply into the wood grain, the old door coffee tables are reminiscent of old world furniture, when everything was made by hand, iron nail studs and artisan construction, the very vibe of the furniture is so earthing and peaceful.

Antique doors, Old Indian Haveli doors were handmade with raw woods, thick solid teak columns and the lintel that joined the column were carved with old world symbols of an urn that symbolizes prosperity. Bringing in the water element with the wood element is nurturing and leads to growth. The blue patina on the doors gives a feel of the oceans and seas that are more a part of the Mother Earth itself. The principles of the five elements are everywhere around us, we have to be open to their energies to learn from them http://EzineArticles.com/10409447
