Renovating an old Spanish Home with Eclectic Furniture & Decor : Mogul Interior

An old colonial home with a refined taste and a hint of nonchalant vintage charm. Blending old rustic patina doors and fresh clean lines, a mix of antique and modern, results in an exceptional curated home that is stunningly eclectic and beautiful. Renovating an old Spanish 19020s home completely inside out, yet preserving every original detail such that the character of the home stays unchanged was my husband’s dream.

Blending History with Contemporary Charm: Repurposed Antique Doors in a Modern Farmhouse
Repurposed Antique Doors in Modern Farmhouse Design

The carved doorways were accented with old Indian arches and a beautiful entryway, we placed two antique columns with stone bases giving a grand old world look. 200 years old Indian gates were used as garden gates, their arched shape and fantastic medieval design played against the rustic look of the house. We kept the tiles all original, along with the arches that are the highlight of Spanish architecture. The rustic armoires and sideboards in the kitchen sit amicably alongside the Spanish styled architecture all set against soft ivory walls.

When it comes to infusing vibrancy into a space, colorful Indian doors are a perfect choice. Hand-painted in bold hues like royal blues, fiery oranges, and deep reds, these doors bring a unique charm and a touch of exotic elegance. Adorned with brass accents, floral motifs, and traditional Rajasthani or Mughal patterns, they are an invitation to step into a world of artistry and heritage.

How to Incorporate Maximalist Elements in Your Space

  1. Mix and Match Patterns â€“ Combine floral wallpapers with geometric rugs, or layer different textiles to create depth and intrigue.
  2. Embrace Bold Colors â€“ Opt for jewel tones, deep greens, or rich burgundies to make your space come alive.
  3. Add Statement Pieces â€“ Antique doors, oversized mirrors, or elaborate chandeliers make perfect focal points.
  4. Layer with Textures â€“ Velvet sofas, embroidered cushions, and detailed woodwork add visual and tactile richness.
  5. Display Personal Collections â€“ Showcase your art, books, and travel souvenirs to create a space that reflects your personality.Mogulinterior | eBay Stores (https://www.ebay.com/str/mogulgallery)
